Garagum Yurt Camp

Our yurt camp is perfectly located just 200 meters from the iconic Darvaza gas crater, nestled in the heart of the Karakum Desert. Just steps away from this fiery wonder, our camp offers an unforgettable experience surrounded by golden dunes. The camp features 20 cozy yurts, each designed to comfortably accommodate up to 4 travelers.

Each yurt is thoughtfully furnished with plush beds, fresh linens, pillows, sheets, and warm blankets, ensuring your ultimate comfort during your stay. For those seeking complete privacy, our attentive staff can set up a private tent equipped with all the necessary amenities. To keep you warm during cooler desert nights, every yurt is equipped with a central heating stove. Additionally, electricity is available in each yurt for your convenience. The campsite also includes a designated area with stationary toilets and shower facilities, providing modern comforts amidst the rugged desert landscape.

Our yurts are crafted from a traditional wooden lattice frame, layered with felt and canvas, and decorated in authentic Turkmen style. This creates an immersive experience that transports you into the world of nomadic traditions. Staying in these yurts is not just accommodation—it’s an adventure for the senses. Here, you’ll connect with nature’s symphony: the gentle song of the wind, the rare calls of nocturnal creatures, the soothing patter of rain, and the profound silence of the desert. This is your chance to escape the pressures of modern life and find peace in the serene heart of the Karakum.

Our camp is designed to provide everything you need for a stress-free and memorable stay. The spacious restaurant tent invites you to savor delicious meals prepared by our team, followed by a breathtaking sunrise experience with a warm cup of coffee or tea at our open-air tables. For special requests, we can arrange a unique dinner next to the glowing crater—an experience you’ll never forget.

Evenings at the camp come alive with opportunities to relax and connect. Gather around the fire under a blanket of stars, challenge fellow travelers to a friendly chess match, or join in lively karaoke sessions. These moments create unforgettable memories and foster connections beneath the desert sky.

But the true highlight of your stay is the Darvaza gas crater, locally known as “Garagum Yalkymy” or “the Shine of the Karakum Desert.” Our yurt camp offers you an unparalleled opportunity to witness its mesmerizing beauty up close. This is more than a trip—it’s a journey into the soul of the desert.
